3 Elements – AMP Oakland Lunch & Listen – Franklin Square

The jazz trio, known as 3 Elements, is led by Andre Mateo, who was born in Wichita in 1993. Andre started playing bass as his primary instrument while attending Willard Jr. High. He continued playing bass until he left Berkeley High and began playing in smaller bands. At the age of 19, he switched to the guitar and taught himself how to voice chords by learning from records and CDs. Andre has been steadily learning and growing ever since.

Currently, Andre Mateo is heading the jazz fusion trio, 3 Elements, as the drummer. Additionally, he has been playing with the Futurelics as their guitarist for close to 5 years. Andre is always seeking new opportunities to learn and improve his skills.
