OCTOBER 2016 | EVENTS
Join CUESA in celebrating the fall harvest at Jack London Square Farmers Market. Savor the season with a day of tasting, learning, and Halloween family fun. Dress up in costume and bring the whole family for apple cider pressing, pumpkin decorating, face painting, a fall pie contest, cooking demos, and more. Free!
Q. What was the inspiration behind the event?
CUESA is the new nonprofit operator of the Jack London Square Farmers Market in Oakland, starting last May. This is our first big seasonal celebration, and we hope it’ll become an annual tradition. In addition to showcasing our 40+ local farmers, food crafters, and prepared food vendors at the weekly farmers market, we’ll be featuring special CUESA programs such as cooking demos with local chefs, fun hands-on activities for kids and grown-ups, and our Schoolyard to Market program. We’re excited to celebrate the Oakland market community, and the fall harvest is the perfect time!
