Get Around

Transit

Downtown Oakland is central not only to the City of Oakland but to the entire Bay Area, but once you get here you won’t want to leave. Luckily, there are many transit options to get around locally including BART and AC Transit. The Free Broadway Shuttle runs every 10-12 minutes along Broadway from the waterfront to Grand Avenue and is free to everyone.

Parking

There are many parking options in Oakland Central including street parking, surface lots, and parking garages. All street parking is $2.00 per hour, and the city recently upgraded its parking meters to Smart Meters that accept credit cards and coins. Parkme is an interactive map on desktop or mobile that can even reserve a parking space in lots and garages. More on parking here.
